This “thematic networking” project creates an online “Youth for Europe” community. The aim is to achieve active and long-term involvement of previous participants of youth exchanges, youth initiatives and youth democracy projects and their youth organisations through a communication tool – the “youth of Europe” – online community website - a thematic online network, which in result connects ALL involved projects, participants and youth organisations. The website we created will only be the connecting tool – the active participation of all levels involved will take place in this way : Every partner organisation receives its own online account, where they add their youth projects (youth exchanges, youth initiatives and youth democracy projects) to the community. They will invite their project partners and youngsters to join and participate in the online community. Each youth project receives its own web log. The involved organisations and youngsters will contribute content (daily reports, stories, photos, movies and (final) reports) to this weblog. At the end of the project the weblog is transformed into a printed booklet/album and distributed to participated partners and youngsters. The contact details of the youth organisation are printed within the album to encourage active involvement of the youngsters and/or their friends. The album is part of the reward system for all active participants. Within the community we created a reward system to encourage long active participation of the participant before, during and after the youth project through Euro-footprints. This system is based on the exchange of Euro-footprints between youth organisations and youngsters. The youngsters/participants can earn Euro-footprints by actively contribute to the weblogs, help the youth organisations to organize new youth projects and/or invite their friends to become a member of the community. In return youngsters can exchange their Euro-footprint for services and/or products that enhance the European citizenship of the youngsters like free language courses, trainings and seminars. Parallel to these activities we want to conduct a research – on how these activites support or change young people in their lives, what they thing changes for them and so on – we want to present this grass root information at the end of this project’s phase.
